‘Justice My Ass’ Raja Petra says

Excerpts from article by Raja Petra Kamarudin
by  Raja Petra Kamarudin

Last month, Umno Johor
said that the greatest mistake they made was in giving the non-Malay
immigrants citizenship in August 1957. Now that they have been given
citizenship they show their ingratitude by voting for the opposition.

Yes, non-Malays, even those born in Malaysia, are immigrants. And,
being immigrants, they must vote Barisan Nasional. And if they do not
vote for Barisan Nasional then they are ungrateful.

Yes, voting
is your right. This is your right according to the Federal Constitution
of Malaysia. Malays can vote for whomsoever they would like to vote for
because the Constitution allows them to do so. Malays, therefore, can
vote for the opposition.

But, if you are non-Malay, then you must vote for Barisan Nasional
because you are an immigrant. If you vote for the opposition then you
are a traitor, you are ungrateful, and it was a great mistake giving
you citizenship in 1957.

Tun Dr Mahathir’s father was born in INDIA.
But Tun Dr Mahathir can vote opposition. He can even oppose Umno like
he is doing so now. In fact, he can even become the Prime Minister. He
is not an ungrateful immigrant who should be sent back to India.

Tian Chua, however, can’t oppose Umno. Tian Chua, whose family settled in Malaya long before the Portuguese came in 1511, is an immigrant. And if he is not happy and if he opposes Umno then he should go back to China.

And Umno Johor regrets giving Tian Chua citizenship in 1957 but does not regret giving Tun Dr Mahathir citizenship.

Why?  Because Tun Dr Mahathir is Muslim while Tian Chua is not.

But
if Tian Chua circumcises and takes on the Muslim name of Musa Bin Susah
and marries a Malay woman, then he need not go back to China and Umno
does not regret giving him citizenship in 1957.

The Malays have a very warped view of justice. Malays practice two standards of justice.
There is one standard for the Malays and another for the non-Malays.

And 90% of the tax is paid by the NON-Malays
and 10% by the Malays, says Tun Dr Mahathir.

But 10% of the scholarships must go to the NON-Malays
and 90% to the Malays.

And when they propose to change this to 40% for the non-Malays and 60% for the Malays,  the Malays raise a hue and cry.
And they call this justice. And they say Islam is about justice.’

JUSTICE MY ASS, MAN !!!!

BLAME THE NEW GOVERNMENT

May 9th, 2008 by kelvynyeang

Many people are quick to blame and quick to accuse. Its human nature i guess. But not many people can truly have a neutral stand or have the ability of "quick to think and reason". Like the old saying goes, "its easier to spot one’s bad habits or mistakes than to actually see the good.

Some people are quick to hop on the conclusion that the new government is bad. With close inspection, these people have either preconceived ideas about governance and are being stubborn, not very well informed or only choose to read from the media of their choice or even have absolutely no idea about how government works but relies on what people tell them. Well my dear kampung folks, its trully time to get out there and immerse yourself in the truth. The truth that the Ruling government has been trying to keep from us all this time.

But before we move into the gist of this blog, lets turn back time and look at what our forefathers fought for. 10 TAHUN SEBELUM MERDEKA. If you haven’t already watched that, please go to you tube and screen it. Its  a brilliant documentary about how our forefathers felt and what they were fighting for. In this short film, many issues were discussed about how the "independence" spirit came about and what originally was intended by the main political figures back in the day. In comparison to today, all i can say is that the "Malaysian Dream" now is nothing but a perversion of what was originally intended by the people. Of course over the ages, time will play itself out and some of the values that was impregnated is all but lost and forgotten. Please i urge you people, GO WATCH IT. Its not a left wing film for your information ( especially to those who are pro-ruling party ), but rather a statement of truth.

BACK TO TODAY!,
Things have changed. Racial cards are played ever so so so so often that you eventually get so tired of praying for them that you begin cursing them ( the culprits that is ). The whole problem now is that everyone is tired and frustrated about the same few issues that seem to re-emerge from time to time. Racial issues and issues about rights that is. Issues pertaining to Religion and also issues pertaining to Racial superiority and transparency. If only the proposals of the AMCJA was taken into consideration much of what we call "fuss" today would have been taken cared of.

But as of late , a slight shimmer of light shines on Malaysia in the form of the Pakatan Rakyat. The pakatan, i believe will herald in a new age in our country and will be one of great importance as it once again signifies that the people’s rights actually have a voice and that people are beginning to stand up against a bad governance once again.

I can’t help but be bombarded by questions from time to time. Some of these, not very well tought over. Here are some issues, that surface form time to time ( courtesy of media-controlled newspapers which have no transparency. )

1) rights of Malays will be eroded with the new government.
If you believe this, then you are decieved. why?, Because to erode rights you need a 2/3rd majority in parliament. If you examine closely, NO ONE PARTY HAS THAT AT THE MOMENT… PERIOD!. To the concerned chinese, even if PAS gets a full 100% victory in the elections, they don’t even have enough seats to form a government by themselves and also no 2/3rd to take away any rights. Besides, Pas has proven from time and again to be doing a good job in their resident state in kelantan and people are happy ( ask any 10 kelantanese and you’ll know why, chinese included ). ISN’T IT BETTER NOW THAT NO ONES HAS A 2/3rd?, no rights can be taken away, as opposed to earlier when everyone was at the mercy of the bn. AND YES THE PAKATAN HAS A MAJORITY OF MALAYS IN THEM, would they take away their own rights?.

2) New government is bad because they ….. ( fill in in accordance to what you read in the newspapers )……
HELLOOOOOOOO…. of course there will be things that are negative happening regardless of who is in power. The issue here however is rather the MAGNITUDE of wrongs committed by a government. In comparison…. 50 years of cow dung management in our country simply cannot be compared to the few months of office of the new government ( speaking of current issues. ). Its simply unfair to judge the new government so fast. Besides, if they are unaccountable to the people you can vote them out next election. Come on , lets all be rational, give them a 5 years trial period…or would you have another 50 years of cow dung?,. For anyone hwo knows how to count, the math itself is enough to draw a decision i believe.

3) NEP NEP NEP NEP, MELAYU MATI TANPA NEP.
PLEASEEEEEEE LAAAAAAA… YOU THINK MALAYS HAVE NO BACK BONES?, IF YOU DO, YOU GO TO HELL. It is umno who wants people to think that they have no backbones. No one is going to die without the nep and the more important part is that THE NEW GOEVERNMENT IS NOT TAKING THE NEP AWAY. Rather the new government will implement the NEP in the correct way, they way it ought to be excercised so that relevant parties ( which are the needy malays ) will FULLY benefit from the NEP. If you think the NEP was properly excercised in the past, you are wrong. If it was… many malays would have been better off today. Like i’ve said before, look into the heartland, look into rural Malaysia, the condition is nothing short of shocking. But if there’s any party that should be complaining i believe it has to be the indians. They have the worst cases of poverty in our country and they have been given the least oportunities. In any case, we should help these brothers of ours even more.

More proof of Malays doing well without an NEP will be just to look at the malays in Singapore and the overseas. The competitiveness just brings out the best in them which brings me to another point…

4) CHANGE… people are scared of change...
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA i laugh at the face of all IDIOTS WHO THINK MAY 13 WILL HAPPEN OF WE DONT VOTE BN.. YOU GUYS ARE PLAIN IGNORANT. So did may 13 happen…i wanna ask?. The political climate then and now is different. We have to embrace change. Change is inevitable and its not necesarrily a bad thing. Some people are sceptical that change in our country will be of any good or in any case cause things to be worst. Well, lets just look at the countries that have embraced change and see how they have improoved. Its a big joke when we compare ourselves to Singapore our neighbour… neighbours who don’t even have their own water become one of the landmark countries in the globe when we, Malaysia a country full of resource is nothing but a laughing stock and a subject matter of crude jokes in the global arena. I SAY LETS CHANGE! lets change for the betterment of our country. Lets all lose our biasness, lose our racial prejudice. its time to hold hands and move forward. Change is already apon us. instead of sulking away, lets just move forward with the new air and breathe a new Malaysia.

CHINA WINE anybody??

April 18th, 2008 by kelvynyeang

Well some of us may have already watched the music video of Sun Ho, a wife of a very famous pastor from Singapore. Call me old fashioned but i kinda felt a lil disturbed after watching it. Yep, there are plenty of videos out there, and plenty more raunchier ones but the fact that i see a pastor’s wife in it makes all the difference.

here, ive put up a link so u can watch it too.

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Twxf2LraoEE&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Twxf2LraoEE&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

im just going to present my opinion on things, and im sure there are many opinions on this subject matter and im just sharing my own. There’s always 2 sides to a coin right? ( unless your coin is a sphere of course! )

Anyway, this video wont post much of a problem to non christians asi believe it directly affects christians more. ( why? because the main star in it is a pastor’s wife silly!, a muslim equavailant would mean to see an uztaz’s or imam’s wife doing the same , in which case will aso cause some confusion in the muslim ranks.)

I do not know about the viewpoints of others, but for me i subscribe that a Spiritual leader’s wife should be of appropriate conduct as they set an example for others to follow. And like it or not, people look up to these leaders, turn to them for advise and many will even follow them to the ends of the world in believe that they are their shepperds to god. If the shepperd is bad, sheep go missing, fall off cliffs and become prey to wolves.

It stumbles me as to how she is dressed and as to how she is dancing. Will you want your child to learn to call people "bitch"? Sure theyll learn it from a zilion other places as well, but the last person i want my kid to learn such language is from my spiritual leaders. Yeah, call me old fashioned but i wont allow my kid to dress like tha either, same thing, theyd probably learn a billion other things from all over, but that would be the last thing i want my kid to learn from my pastor or his wife. Let alone what people think, do you think jesus will accept this?. Will you speak like that and dance like that in front of our Jesus?. Do you think Jesus will approove of such behaviour and give you a pat on the back saying, "good job my faithful servant". No i do not know what Jesus thinks, but i do know that we are taught not to be stumbling blocks to others. For certain issues you can debate on the fact that it is arguable to what is "stumbling" and what isnt. But in this case, it is so controversial, it has sparked alot of mixed feelings that i guess calling this video a stumbling block is acceptable. Yes the motives can be positive, but a stumbling block it still is. Example, i curse a some gangsters because they are bothering my friends, bystanders who knwo i am christian will begin to question my actions. Get it now?. The video just causes people to question. This creates alt of uncertainty to what is permissable. Believe me, many church leaders also disagree with what is going on.

here are sme comments posted by viewers of the video on you tube-

Whats this whole thing about Sun and the church stuff? You guys seriously need to chill man.

This IS the mass media, rising up in this area is not easy. And please, EVERYTHING in the mass media is pure entertainment, not real life for goodness sake.

I dont care if she’s christian, buddhist, hindu, atheist or whatever, if anyone makes it into the US market you gotta give e person credit.

I particularly like the song and the dance. I think you guys had too much wine. - pootie

Please dont associate anti-lasciviousness, lewdness with pharisism, it is 2 different thing. Pharisism is the gospel of work and self effort. While I am pleased that she is going places, this MTV is indeed very sensual. You cannot deny that. Maybe u see n experience more as a dancer n it does not stumble u, it doesn’t mean that all should accept it just becos you do and it won’t stumble others. Not that I m stumbled anyway. -red tide

the entire video is about her wanting this, wanting that. We’re looking at a woman who has had her entire life’s focus changed, but is unwilling to admit it. Someone who wants fame in the States so badly that she is willing to constantly change her moral standards just to fit into the culture.

I dont think any of what she’s doing is outright wrong, since Im a liberal person. But having known what she used to stand for before she got into all this, it just makes her a complete hypocrite. -summerson84yang

And finally there’s this other guy who said that we cannot compare real life to showbiz, as a christian acting in a show as a thief does not make him a thief. yeah good arguement. But if you dont want to be called stupid, then dont act stupid. A christian porn star is still a pornstar. Yes there is a huge diffrence in acting as  a thief and being a pornstar, the latter being that you sell your body and the product is highly sensual. The video has nothing of the sort that is "pornish", however in my opinion it is sensual, just like the pussycat dolls, it makes men think about sex ( forgive our drive, and im sure to ask my maker when i die on why he made us this way :) ).

This is my honest view, i do not intend to offend anyone. But this subject matter is extremely subjective and i fully undertsand that views can largely vary.

Racial Malaysia?

April 1st, 2008 by kelvynyeang

we all know that the rakyat has spoken. and it is because that the rakyat has spoken that we are all experiencing a very different political climate. this gives us some hope , a hope to create a living environment where race is never the issue.

how sad as reality sets in. even up till today you still hear people ranting about the rights of chinese, malays etc. the close mindedness of these people reflects on their insecurities as well as their idea of a country, a country where only a certain race will or should prevail. how shallow.

all these feelings will inavertantly lead to selfishness and individuals just weeding out self gain as well as a "untuk bangsa sendiri" attitude.

i also understand that many such people have been fed with racial thoughts since young and it can be hard to break free, but thats not an excuse. even more we should proove that our generation will make the difference and blow the winds of change.

we have to discard the fear of competition. the fear that other races will benefit more, the fear of marginalisation as well as the fear of violence caused by racial tensions. those are things of yesteryears. in order to be fully competitive with the rest of the world we have to think "malaysian".

is really race, religion so important?. why should we be divided?. why do we still practice racial sagregation, division, marginalisation, and all the other "tions"?, rather in more importance and accuracy, why does our government still do this?. what is wrong with a meritocracy system?. will it cause people to become poor? or will it prevent others from getting rich?. poverty in our country is equally shared by all the races, there fore help should be extended to all as well. and because there wasnt any fairplay for the past donkey years in the distribution of oportunities, that is why many people has festered feelings of disatisfaction, causing racial hatred etc.

we have to look forward. things have to change and it has to begin with us. stop refering to ourselves as chinese, indian, malay… but be proud to be called a malaysian. to be honest, i really totally disagree with the whole race, religion , bumi, non bumi thing that we have to fill in documents. is taht really so important?, where is the perpaduan taught to us in pendidikan moral?, do the umno rulers learn that in pendidikan islam as well?. you see, even during school time they have already divided us by sending the malays to islam classes when we had moral…

then there the ugly ones. the ones who feel strongly about their own races be it chinese, malay or indian. the ones that feel that their race deserves more than others because of some stupid reason. do we all not bleed when we are cut? are we all not subject to death and eat with our mouths?. until one can start eating with their anus then i believe they reserve the right to speak so highly of themselves.

i have friends, many still dont see it the way i do. many still think as a chinese, malay, indian. its really dissapointing. these people are very ill informed about the current state of affairs, but yet overly stubborn. they do not realise of a far greater importance of unity, and with their selfish attititudes they grind and work only for themselves and tehir own benefits. their actions and words are careless and they do not care about how others would feel…

then there are the politicians who belong to race based parties, and also those who always quote the importance of representing their race over representing the people. many got into office with the colective vote of all races. people want to be served , and not only a certain race.

our country is wonderful, special and highly unique since it is a blend ofcultures. and every single race contributed to the growth and prosperity of this land. this is malaysia and it belongs to us.

we mustnt look at it as MALAYsia or CHINEsia or INDIANsia. this will not solve anything and we must always think far into the future.

malaysia, it is ours and we should love it and all its people.

here’s a lil funny something i received through the mail. funny hahah

THANK YOU BN. For giving us the World’s Healthiest Country. Even as the Elections Commission, your own agents, ooops … I mean er… civil servants, admitted one week before the elections, Malaysia has more than 8,500 voters aged over 100! Dear BN, what’s your secret? Do these super-old voters drink ginseng? Tongkat Ali? Or indelible ink?

THANK YOU BN. For giving us the World’s Most Expensive Car Jack. As the Auditor General’s Report released last year showed, you used our money to buy car jacks at RM5,741 each when it costs only RM50 per piece in the hardware store. I understand that these fantastic tools can "jack up" not only cars but even Datuks all the way up to the Fourth Floor of Pak Lah’s Minister Mentor.

THANK YOU Umno. For the World’s Greatest U-Turn. Last November, when HINDRAF (HINDu Rights Action Force) Indians demonstrated in KL to protest their "marginalisation" by the Umno-controlled government, you condemned them as "ruffians" who would jeopardise social stability, tourism and foreign direct investment (FDI).

But one week after elections, Umno itself demonstrated in Penang, Ipoh and Shah Alam claiming that the new State Governments there will "marginalise" the Malays. And no doubt, they want to "promote" inter-racial harmony, social stability, tourism and FDI with slogans like: "Don’t play fire with Malay rights!"  So dear Umno, why don’t you call yourselves MALRAF - MALay Rights Action Force!

THANK YOU Gerakan. For the World’s Smartest Economic Policy. As revealed by blogger (and now MP) Jeff Ooi, former Chief Minister Koh Tsu Koon used taxpayers’ money to give Motorola a RM1 billion (that’s RM1,000 million) contract, so that the American electronics company would announce (just before the elections) a RM350 million investment in Penang to "prove" that the state was still economically "competitive". Wow, what a vote of "confidence" in Penang’s economy!

THANK YOU Umno for the World’s Greatest Irony. Last November, you accused HINDRAF of causing losses to businesses and traffic jams (when it was actually the massive police roadblocks/crackdown that caused the jams/chaos). You said such protests were "not our culture" and a "threat to national security" worthy of ISA detentions.

But now Umno’s MALRAF has shown that such protests are indeed part of Malaysian, or at least, Malay culture. And the best part was that they proved we could have peaceful demonstrations – as long as the police behave professionally. In other words, Umno’s demonstrations have truly "demonstrated" that 50 year old Malaysia is mature enough to allow people to "let off steam" by shouting and holding banners for an hour or two without incurring National Apocalypse.

And then after all that shouting and sweating, habis cerita! We Malaysians (who are so bored that we stop our cars to look at road accidents) finally get some street entertainment and after that all the crowds go for their teh tarik and roti canai. Hey, that’s good business for the mamak shops you know!

But if you ask me, the true MALRAF are the many Malays who protested against BN policies through their votes, especially in Kedah, Kelantan, Penang, Perak, Selangor and KL. Just as the majority of Chinese did an electoral CHINRAF.

So what shall we call those Umno demonstrators? How about MONEYRAF? A MONEY Rights Action Force to demand their "Malay rights" privileges to "buta gaji" contracts, projects, AP’s and share allocations so that they (and their Mak Datin wives) can continue to buy their BMW’s (and "ori-punya" Gucci handbags) while the real makciks struggle to make a living selling mee goreng at the roadside.

THANK YOU Selangor BN, for being the World’s Most Environment-Friendly Government. DAP Kampung Tunku State Assemblyman, Lau Weng San, has lodged a police report over alleged destruction of documents by the previous Selangor State Government. Pictures have appeared on the internet of files strewn all over office floors.

Perhaps they were shredding all that paper to recycle into tissue paper? To wipe away the s**t before it hits the fan when the new Menteri Besar takes over? Ah, what fragrant records they shall leave behind… how eco-friendly of them!

THANK YOU MCA. For giving us the World’s Best "Buy One Free One!" Special Offer. This means the voters can Buy Opposition and Still Get Free BN Service!

Despite Pak Lah threatening the Chinese that they would "lose representation" in the government if they voted for the Opposition, the MCA still got their four Minister’s posts in Pak Lah’s new Cabinet. Of course, these Minister-ships have little real power anyway.

For example, even though the MCA got a massive "mandate" in the 2004 elections, the MCA "Minister of Housing and Local Government" (H&LG) never had power over housing and local government. Why? Because these matters are actually (in the Constitution, no less) under the jurisdiction of State Governments! The Minister of H&LG could not appoint Majlis Perbandaran Councillors or give approvals for housing projects. In fact, he himself once complained that Local Councils were not implementing his proposals for more CCTV’s, street barriers and well-lighted pavements under the "Safe City Concept".

As MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting said himself on March 9, the party "accepted and respected the people’s decision" and would "continue to fight" for the rights of the community and country. As The Star reported, he also urged MCA candidates with good track records "not to be affected" by their defeat and to "carry on serving" the community. One example is the hardworking MP Lee Hwa Beng, who despite being defeated by the young man who filmed the VK Lingam video, has sportingly agreed: "I will keep my service centre open." Well done sir.

In other words, the people get the BEST OF BOTH WORLDS. We get more of an Opposition voice in Parliament and we still get the BN reps to help us with complaints of blocked longkangs, blinking street-lights and bloody road potholes. Well, how else can they hope to win back our votes in 2013?

BUT what if the new State Governments transform the Majlis Perbandaran’s to become more efficient? To do the bloody blinking jobs they were paid to do in the first place? What will happen to the MCA’s Majlis Perbandaran Liaison Officer and Petition Writer roles? Oh oh… looks like the MCA reps have to urgently reinvent and rebrand themselves.

THANK YOU Elections Commission (EC). For giving Malaysia the World’s Most Advanced Technology. Before this, we’ve only seen "tele-portation" on Star Trek – you know, like when Captain Kirk or Dr. Spock says "beam me up" and they are instantly "tele-transported" in a sort of large laser beam from some strange planet back to the mother spaceship.

But BERSIH, the elections reform group, says that you, the EC, have managed to transfer voters (possibly thousands) from Selangor to places like Kelantan and Terengganu without even their knowledge. How many of these people could actually drive five to eight hours all the way there to vote? PAS claims that at least 200 buses of "phantom voters" were brought into Terengganu and its President, Hadi Awang says police "escorted them like VIP’s".

No wonder the cartoonist Zunar calls you, the EC, a "component party" of the Barisan Nasional. Come on… don’t so like dat-lah. I mean, congratulations on such marvellous technology and all that. But dear EC, at least you should have the basic courtesy to "tele-transport" voters only after they say "beam me up". Not before, OK?

What’s next EC? Al Jazeera TV reported on March 9 that you could stuff 560 "registered voters" into one street of small terrace houses in Cheras, Selangor. You even had the sense of humour to stuff 26 of them into the same 1,400 sq ft house (perhaps to share the bathroom?) as the brother of Jenice Lee (now elected as DAP State Assemblywoman for Teratai, Selangor).

Now, we all know that great progress is being made in "data compression" technology. For example, we used to need two or three pieces of VCD’s for one movie whereas nowadays, you can stuff five or even more movies into just one piece of DVD. So… for 2013, I am looking forward to the EC’s "best-punya" world-class technology – to stuff 30 "registered voters" into the dog kennel behind my house!

THANK YOU MIC. For the World’s Best SMS jokes! Allow me to jazz them up.

"Hi. My friend is looking for a job. Construction background. His education not that strong. But can "kau tim" things. Any buildings collapse, he will say Act of God. He was with Malaysian Govt past 30 years. Last job: Works Minister. His name is Samy Vellu. Please help him to get at least toll gate collector job. Thanks."

And you probably also heard the "latest news" that Samy Vellu is now a film producer in Bolehwood? His first movie will be Kuch Kuch Kalah Hai starring Mydin Khan, Sharizat Rai, Kayveas Kapoor, Koh Tsu Khan and Khir Tempe Blachan. Special guest appearances by Khairy Kumar and Bobby Badawi.

UMNO rears its ugly head in PEnang

March 15th, 2008 by kelvynyeang

IN RELATION TO THE RECENT PROTEST HELD BY UMNO IN PG.

those of you living in the beautiful island of penang would have either heard or firsthandedly experienced the protest held by the UMNO recently. Aparently the aggrieved parties felt uncomfortable at an unconfrimed statement by Lim Guan Eng, the new chief minister of Penang over wheter the NEP ( new economic policy )would be implemented in Penang or not.

Chanting slogans of "god is great" and causing  massive traffic jams, these people took to the streets to demonstrate their grouses.

This only shows the weaknesses in UMNO in my opinion. The polls have already decided who shall be the new government and people shoudl respect that . This is what democracy is about. The rakyat has spoken, and clearly it shows the rakyat’s confidence in UMNO and BN in Penang resulting in a landslide victory by the opposition, now government :). UMNO  displays an utmost arrogance in defying the new government as well as the rakyat. As you can see, only UMNO malays are against it and even today 22 islamic NGOs have met with Guan Eng and has agreed to support him in his bid for transparency.

UMNO insults all malays and the rakyat through the protest held earlier (14 march ) in my opinion.

Citing that if the NEP ceases to exist the rights of malays in Penang will be greatly eroded & is racist, thus UMNO clearly rejects a system based on meritocracy!. To date, and through my knowledge the NEP is the sole cause of marginalisation of other races and the cause for racial tension.

By oposing the ending of the NEP in Penang, UMNO insults all malays by implying that malays cannot live without it. All the other races have survived greatly without the NEP, Singaporean malays are holding high office as well as known for being successfull because teh competitiveness has caused them to rise up. The atmosphere in Penang should be no different. It is only fair that a  system based on merits is implemented. Let oportunities be given to those who are deserving regardless of race. If you think otherwise then you are racist for you believe equality must not be implemented. Then i guess i feel greatly sorry for such individuals taht fail to see a Malaysian dream happen.

Malays do not need the NEP. Malays are just as good as any other race and for that matter all malaysians are as good as one another. Oportunities are always present and let those who are hardworking and deerving be endowed with these oportunities. Unless of course UMNO admits that Malays are lazy and useless without the NEP WHICH IS UNTRUE. Many of my malay friends has agreed with me over these issues.Malays are just as capable as any other races. If youa re malay and you look down on your own race…then shame on you.

UMNO also displayed hippocrisy by staging the protest. Quoting from our Prime Minister - " protest is not in the spirit of the Malays ", Abdullah Badawi dismissed the bersih rally organised by the rakyat as an opposition propaganda and continued to say that malays should not participate in the protest. Umno also said that if the people are unhappy they should do it in the polls.

Well, the protest on march 14 clearly demonstrates how UMNO can quickly contradict themselves in favour of their own agendas. Where is Pak Lah when his UMNO goons are causing traffic jams?. UMNO labeled the HINDRAFF protestors as terrorist, so what are these UMNO people now?. If it is not in the spirit of the malays then why is UMNO organising one?. Why then do they break the law even when it is already banned?. Now i say to them back, if u are unhappy,… well demonstrate your unhappyness NEXT ELECTION.

The rakyat has spoken, now stop being terorrist and causing jams for others and move on. If you want to serve the rakyat then do it the right way. Now UMNO is the opposition in Penang. Be a good opposition and excercise your duties in the dewan undangan negeri. Yes we also want a good opposition in the new government too.

Remember that it was the BARISAN RAKYAT that has won and not the opposition. The rakyat has voiced their dissatisfaction. and even with all the postal votes and alleged rigging the rakyat has decided who the new government should be. i say let us work together and move forward.

REASON 3 NOT TO VOTE BN

March 4th, 2008 by kelvynyeang

im really saddened by the fact i cant vote!

why?, well, i registered last year but my name is not in the system. reasons given by the pilihanraya office were " things like these happens from time to time". " we can re-register you now, but you cant vote thsi round" "heres a document, just fill this in" —- documents states…" upon signing this document, i hereby declare that i have not registered for voting before"

i told them  im not going to sign it as i already regiustered.such an important matter and they can take it so lightly, which lead me to think about others like me, which im sure there are plenty. This leaves plenty to question about how "clean, fair, and accountable" our voting system is.

voters over a 100 years old, dead people and people with wrong addresses, chinese ic numbers with malay names, and voters allocated to states that they dont even belong to. these are just some of the things that are happening.

majulah malaysia! congratultions, our leadership has raised even more questioning and of late the election comission has decided to withdraw from using indellible ink to ensure a clean election.

this last minute withdrawal only prooves the monkey antics of our ec as well as their sincereity in carrying out an accountable procedure during the elections. MAJULAH MALAYSIA!!!!

REASON 1 NOT TO VOTE BN

March 4th, 2008 by kelvynyeang

Thursday, February 28, 2008 Response to Wong Chun Wai - Why Christians prefer to vote for PAS, not BN. Dear Mr. Wong Chun Wai, ( I know he is a Datuk, so what?) I refer to your commentary in The Star (29 Feb 2008) in which you wrote: “ I hear church groups telling their congregation to vote anything opposition including PAS, which is simply naïve and emotional. Whatever the flaws of the system, it still works, despite some occasional hitches,” said one Penang Barisan leader. Why didn’t you name that Penang Barisan leader? Because this quote is your personal view. Writers like you, who are de facto press secretaries of the MCA, write your views and attribute them to some sources or political analysts. Please lah, don’t mock at our intelligence! Mr Wong, a flawed system doesn’t work!!! If it is flawed, it is flawed. How can it work? I understand you are a Christian but I wonder how much you understand the Gospels or the very life of Jesus Christ and what he stood for. Our Lord would not have been crucified had he accepted “the flaws of the system” of His times. He never asked his people to close their eyes to the “flaws of the system” and instead focus on development , personal comfort, bank accounts and roads. He stood up against the corrupt leaders who were fleecing the people. He condemned them as dead man’s tombs, hypocrites, vipers etc ( please read Matthew 23). The entire chapter is condemnation of the corrupt leaders of the Law. How could one who professes to be a Christian choose to prop up a regime that is utterly corrupt and immoral? How could a Christian vote for candidates who are unwilling to defend the rights of his religion? How could a Christian support a regime that denies the weak non-Muslim to seek redress in any court of law? What is your take on abuse of power, the dismantling of the Judiciary, the corrupt government leaders who inflate their bank accounts with money that belongs to the people? What is your stand on the confiscation of Christian literature and the Bible or the banning of the term “Allah” (mind you, this was approved by the Cabinet of which MCA Ministers are members) Aren’t all these precursors of more frightening things to come? Have you thought what awaits your children’s future if this trend continues? What is your stand on the creeping Islamization of the country and the utter subservience of the MCA that you represent, to its political masters, UMNO? Why should I give my vote to a MCA or Gerakan Chinese who will not defend my religious rights? A good MCA leader who cannot defend my rights is of no use to me. As a Christian, should we be more concerned about Truth, Freedom, Justice, good governance, honesty and righteousness than bread and butter issues or clogged drains and tarred roads?. Shouldn’t a Christian stand up for the poor, the oppressed and the marginalized. (Please read Matthew 6). UMNO has done more damage to my religious rights than PAS. It is UMNO which is snatching away dead bodies, not PAS. It is UMNO which is separating children from parents and husbands from their wives, not PAS. It is UMNO that threatened us with the keris, not PAS. Therefore it is not “naïve or emotional” for a Christian to give his/her vote to PAS against the apartheid inclined regime that is racist and utterly devoid of honestly and morality. The government has to earn that Christian vote. It is not given free of charge. Sir, there is such a thing as protest vote. Thank You. NOTE TO CHRISTIANS: If you are Christian and has never registered as a voter or has never voted in your life, shame on you. You are an irresponsible Christian and citizen. (Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s). A good Christian is a responsible citizen. Mr Smith

the INSECURITIES of “some” Malaysians

January 24th, 2008 by kelvynyeang

this post will be about generally how i feel about the whole recalling of christian books issue, namely all books with the word "allah" printed on them.

- if you however cannot accept a third person’s point of view on this matter i suggest u leave this blog right now. ( yup its my blog so i can write how i feel…u dig? )

- this post is meant in no way to insult whosoever or cause national instability through the creation of racial tension ( chuckels ).

- this post however represents my honest opinion about the issue. what?, i cant be opiniated in this country?… serious?.. bahh i dont care. Frankly, even if i dont speak my mind here im sure countless others have already felt the same. so here goes… ( if you’re still reading that means in no way you iwll be offended by what you are gonna read….public disclaimer )

S.I.B or sidang injil borneo was fighting a case, its quite hi-profile and its all over newspapers across town. It seems that some dudes wanna implement that all non muslim ( christian ) books with the word "allah" be banned from circulation and recalled. plus the word is to never be used again in future and u can’t export or import books like these either. please correct me if i am wrong ok.

My concern is… can someone tell me WHAT IS WRONG?. Wats up with the usage of the word "allah". After all it is just a word to represent god. And for that matter not just the Muslim god. I have no qualms against islam and may i stress that some of my bestest buddies are all muslims. But this goes further than religion actually. How can u ban the usage of a word?. Besides theres no patent to it, no rights whatsoever and to be honest who knows, who coined the word could be a non muslim even for that matter. If im not wrong even muslims used another word other than "allah" to represent god in the ancient times. If this is true then does this mean that the "great thinkers" ( although many cant think !) of malaysian law are imposing selfishness and claiming the word for islam exclusively?. Come on… i mean a word is after all just a word. Take for example if i call someone a stewpid face, and i am told not to use the word, so in response i use another but similar word, wouldnt that still be the same…stupid face!. The same is true here. So if the word "allah" is banned, will it be any different?. well other than the angry mob created, crying injustice and on the other hand others screaming god is great i think not.

lets face it. the only impression things like these give us non muslims is that of the insecurities of the muslims in the country. Why so?, here let me illustrate a lil.

at the moment, the way things are going,.. anything at all that might have a concern with islam, even in the litlest, all the laws of islam will be poured in and all cases will be decided "islamically".( this is because all thing spertaining to islam will be imposed a syariah law. there’s a big debate on this, whether federal constitution should overwrite the syariah. It however seems bleak that the constitution is any good after the lina joy case. please google "lina joy case" for more insight.)

take for example. a while ago some muslim parties wanted a certain kind of biscuit to be taken off the shelves. reason being that the biscuits had li’l crosses on them. ( crosses re-present a religion they feel very strongly about wink wink ). WHATS WITH these parties AND CROSSES ANYWAY? its just a harmless cross on the biscuit, and u think that it can incite someone into conversion?. pleaaaassseee la. muslims should be strong enough to resist a biscuit. if even a biscuit can cause you to stop believeing i urge u to stop believing in whatever faith you are in if this is so. I profess to be a christian and i know that no biscuit or roti canai shaped like a crescent will make me change my mind. ( yes im christian now dont judge me because of the profanity …sort off used above, thats just an illustration ok.)

since were in the topic of crosses let us continue shall we?. ever wonder why is our country the only one using "red crescent" and not red cross? i guess no prizes for guessing why. will a simple redcross shake the believe of muslims?. besides the redcross is historic and its significance should be recognised, since anyway the "red crescent" is just a ciplaked version of the red cross anyway. hey, hospitals were started by christians, does that mean muslims cant go to the hospital? eeshhh its for everyone! and its not exclusive. ( note that the biscuit incident is true and i read about it from marina mahathir’s post. )

Some of us may still remer the old five ringgit note. The plasticky ones have replaced the old paper notes. but most of us will be able to remember them, yes the one with the istana negara building at the back. look carefully. there are a few versions. but 2 very interesting versions feature one with a flag pole with a cross and the later one with the cross removed. um… its just a cross man.. i wonder what is the reason behind removing the ship mast flagpole that is shaped like a cross?…

does this mean teachers must mark wrong anwers in school with a "salah" instead of an "x"?.

rumour has it that books with images of the prophets moses and abraham will have to be recalled as well, reason being that in islam no prophet can be depicted. if that i sso ( i sure hope not ) then, will that mean the authorities will tear down churches with stained glass windows showing the prophets and saints. Jesus is a prophet to the muslims… will that mean that all catholics must cease from using the crucifix? i wonder where all of this is going. You can’t impose your belief on others even if you so belief in your idealogies is right when compared.

When asked about the lina joy case a politican simply answered, if you are in a club u have to go by the club rules. so if a club has rules on leaving the club, you too must abide. HEllO … Lina didnt have a choice whether she wanted to be in the club in the first place… she was literally considered part of the club when she was born and not through choice, and when she finally decides everyone gives her a hard time. how unfair. clearly this is a violation of constitutional rights. i suggest that instead of chanting god is great many of them should focus on getting things done the right way or educating themsleves perhaps. ( whats the use of having lina as a muslim when she no longer wants to be a muslim. though her ic states she is, she openly declares otherwise.)

In an event in penang some time ago, a forum called article 11 was to be held here in penang to encourage the discussions on interacial and religious issues. it had to be cancelled because a muslim mob formed outside and it became unrully. it is just a forum, if you have something to say i suggest it be done in a civilised manner. please…  you could join the forum and have your views heard there. but noooooo theyd rather gaher outside and cause a ruckus. No this doesnt refer to all muslims, which many are civilised and highly intelligent people contributing greatly to society. These few however should get their mind straight. ( many people cheapen the way islam is and the same is true for other beliefs. )

hence i will continue to use the word "allah" since it is for everyone just like this country is a "malaysian  malaysia" and not a "muslim malaysia"

please be open minded about things. what i have just blogged is what countless others are feeling right now. shutting these feelings away will not mean that they aren’t there either.

jus like Namewee and his negara ku ku song that caused a big controversy. I applaud him as a genius and i commend him for his honesty. He is mere pointing out facts that are very real to our society and denying them will only make things worse. ( update, however some of the statements are very crudely put and to those i do not support at all )
