Racial Malaysia?

we all know that the rakyat has spoken. and it is because that the rakyat has spoken that we are all experiencing a very different political climate. this gives us some hope , a hope to create a living environment where race is never the issue.

how sad as reality sets in. even up till today you still hear people ranting about the rights of chinese, malays etc. the close mindedness of these people reflects on their insecurities as well as their idea of a country, a country where only a certain race will or should prevail. how shallow.

all these feelings will inavertantly lead to selfishness and individuals just weeding out self gain as well as a "untuk bangsa sendiri" attitude.

i also understand that many such people have been fed with racial thoughts since young and it can be hard to break free, but thats not an excuse. even more we should proove that our generation will make the difference and blow the winds of change.

we have to discard the fear of competition. the fear that other races will benefit more, the fear of marginalisation as well as the fear of violence caused by racial tensions. those are things of yesteryears. in order to be fully competitive with the rest of the world we have to think "malaysian".

is really race, religion so important?. why should we be divided?. why do we still practice racial sagregation, division, marginalisation, and all the other "tions"?, rather in more importance and accuracy, why does our government still do this?. what is wrong with a meritocracy system?. will it cause people to become poor? or will it prevent others from getting rich?. poverty in our country is equally shared by all the races, there fore help should be extended to all as well. and because there wasnt any fairplay for the past donkey years in the distribution of oportunities, that is why many people has festered feelings of disatisfaction, causing racial hatred etc.

we have to look forward. things have to change and it has to begin with us. stop refering to ourselves as chinese, indian, malay… but be proud to be called a malaysian. to be honest, i really totally disagree with the whole race, religion , bumi, non bumi thing that we have to fill in documents. is taht really so important?, where is the perpaduan taught to us in pendidikan moral?, do the umno rulers learn that in pendidikan islam as well?. you see, even during school time they have already divided us by sending the malays to islam classes when we had moral…

then there the ugly ones. the ones who feel strongly about their own races be it chinese, malay or indian. the ones that feel that their race deserves more than others because of some stupid reason. do we all not bleed when we are cut? are we all not subject to death and eat with our mouths?. until one can start eating with their anus then i believe they reserve the right to speak so highly of themselves.

i have friends, many still dont see it the way i do. many still think as a chinese, malay, indian. its really dissapointing. these people are very ill informed about the current state of affairs, but yet overly stubborn. they do not realise of a far greater importance of unity, and with their selfish attititudes they grind and work only for themselves and tehir own benefits. their actions and words are careless and they do not care about how others would feel…

then there are the politicians who belong to race based parties, and also those who always quote the importance of representing their race over representing the people. many got into office with the colective vote of all races. people want to be served , and not only a certain race.

our country is wonderful, special and highly unique since it is a blend ofcultures. and every single race contributed to the growth and prosperity of this land. this is malaysia and it belongs to us.

we mustnt look at it as MALAYsia or CHINEsia or INDIANsia. this will not solve anything and we must always think far into the future.

malaysia, it is ours and we should love it and all its people.

One Response to “Racial Malaysia?”

True. eg recently, an assemblyman in Perak of a certain race who resigned saying there is not enough rep fr his race in the Exco team hence cannot defend the rights of his race.

Sigh… i’m so disappointed and sad. As you rightly said… why should we separate ourselves by our ethnic race. We are bangsa Malaysia. A Bangsa Malaysia leader of WHICHEVER ethnic background should and will protect the rights of any Bangsa Malaysia of WHICHEVER ethnic background.

That person who resigned for the above mentioned reason.. does it mean he won’t be serving the citizens that is not of his race? I support his party, but i think this particular assyman is shooting himself on the foot. Luckily there is only him in the entire PR that is like that. I like the way AI or GE or Ngeh or Nizar has portrayed themselves. “We serve all. No one race will be marginalised.” That is the way.
